Our contribution to improved education in Zambia is through a successful running of a teacher training college, a primary school, supporting community preschools and keeping vulnerable children in schools through a school fees waiving programme.



Children’s Town School

Children’s Town School offers education from preschool to Grade 9 to children who lived in the streets and to vulnerable children from surrounding communities. The preschool stage uses a child friendly teaching method called ‘Preschool of the Future’, while the primary education section pays special attention to Grade 1 pupils whose class is managed by two teachers. From Grade 7 to 9 the school provides a two-tier education system called Practical and Theoretical Basic Education (PTE).

Mkushi College of Education

Mkushi College of Education offers a 3 year Primary School Teacher Education Diploma Course affiliated to the University of Zambia. The college prepares students to cultivate their passion to use their will, heart and skills to work in rural schools where there is an abundant need for their services.

Mumena Vocational Training Centre

Mumena Vocational Training Centre provides young people with an opportunity to learn skills which enhance their employability, and to be their own bosses through self-employment through a 6 month two-tier mixed-farming course. The trained young people use the acquired skills to compete favourably in the informal sector.

Community School Enhancement Project

The Community School Enhancement Project improved the quality of life for vulnerable children through quality education. The quality of education was enhanced by training teachers that improved their performance; improved the Parents’ Community School Committees (PCSCs) involvement in the running of community schools; improved Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) practices; empowered vulnerable households economically; and documented and shared project’s lessons learnt and best practices.

Community Schools Enhancement - End of Evaluation Report

Following the closure of the Community Schools Enhancement Project which was implemented in 160 Community Schools and reaching over 50, 000 vulnerable children in Zambia, Development Aid from People to People Zambia (DAPP) and the Fundacion Puebro Para Pueblo (FPP) with support from the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Zambia commissioned an end of project evaluation report. The report presents the findings of the end of project evaluation of the Non-State Actors Action entitled “Enhancement of Quality Education hrough Community Schools in Northern, Muchinga and Central Provinces of Zambia
