DAPP Projects

The project is presently financed by the Child Welfare Fund and DAPP and has received funding from the Global Environment Facility-Small Grants Programme (GEF-SGP) through UNDP and Keepers Zambia. The Project is implemented in cooperation with the Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA), Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives and CETZAM. The project works with 1,000 families living in 50 villages in and around the Lukanga swamps. Activities focus on training farmers in improved farming methods and provision of inputs to establish revolving loans of grains and livestock. The project also strengthens wetland committees in charge of protecting and conserving flora and founa in the wetland area.
