DAPP Projects

This project was funded by UNICEF and implemented in Mumbwa and Chibombo Districts in the Central Province, Samfya and Mungwi Districts in Luapula and Northern Provinces, respectively.

The objective of the project was to improve early childcare, development and education (ECCDE) for 10,000 through community sensitization and training in 700 villages, and through establishment and strengthening of 55 ECCDE centres in the 4 target districts. The community-based integrated ECCDE centres carried out activities including early education, health, nutrition, child protection and parenting programmes, and growth monitoring in those centres with parents taking centre stage in running the centres to ensure sustainability. The project ran from 2012 to 2013.
