On Wednesday, 1 December 2021, DAPP in Zambia joined other stakeholders to commemorate World AIDS Day.

Minister of Health Sylvia Masebo who graced the commemoration as Guest of Honour, called for urgent action to address stigma, discrimination and all inequalities that prevent citizens from accessing HIV/AIDS information and services.

Ms Masebo who visited the DAPP in Zambia stand at the event, commended the organisation for its people-centred response to the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Under the slogan, “Only the people can liberate themselves from AIDS, the epidemic,” our TCE programme supports people to take control of their own health by equipping communities with knowledge and tools to reduce stigma and increase access to treatment and care.

Girls and young women face sexual and gender-based violence, unintended pregnancy and may be forced to drop out of school. Yet, completion of a high school education, including comprehensive sexuality education, is one of the surest ways to keep young women and girls free of HIV.
